News from the past year displayed 

29th May 2012

Improvements have been made to the Durham Tour which now sees journeys extend to Beamish. Buses will serve Beamish all year on Saturdays, summer Sundays and daily during the summer holidays using open top and heritage vehicles. Check 'The Durham Tour' page for more details.

19th December 2011

Regrettably, due to the increase in competition from another Durham based operator, service 46 is being withdrawn from the 23rd of January due to low passenger numbers. Also due to competition, X99 is being heavily cut due to unsustainable passenger numbers, however new "bargain" fares will be charged on the new service. Service S3 will benefit from a 20 minute service until 15:30 from 24th of January, but will not be operating till this date due to University holidays.

17th September 2011

The Winter Timetable for The Durham Tour has now been posted to the website and can be viewed in the Durham Tour page. Services will be operating on Saturdays and Sundays until 9th of October, then every Saturday afterwards. Special Events will also be on throughout the Winter period.

21st June 2011

Service changes on 1st July will see service 46 reduced from three to two journeys a day, with the Durham - Esh Winning section being withdrawn. Passengers making these journeys are advised to change onto service 44. Improvements are being made to service S3 which will see the service running upto every 20 minutes using modern low floor vehicles. The first service of the day is withdrawn along with evening services due to poor patronage.

11th May 2011

A new service will commence operation on the 17th May with a half hourly service between Durham Bus Station and Durham University. This service will be operated with low floor buses until 15:30.

5th February 2011

Three new services will begin on the 1st of March operating between Washington, Chester-le-Street, Wadridge Park and Durham. Services will be hourly to Durham and Waldridge Park and up to every 10 minutes between Chester-le-Street and Washington. 

9th January 2011

Service revisions will take effect on the 15th of January which will include the start of the Durham Tour, minor alterations to service S2, withdrawl of service 41 and reduced frequency on service 45/45a. These changes will allow us to use vehicles in positions where the majority of people are using them.

30th December 2010

Starting on the 15th of January 2011 is the Durham Sightseeing tour which will run hourly throughout the day. The tour will visit Durham Cathedral & Castle, The Sands, Botanical Gardens, DLI Museum, Rail Station and Lumley Castle.
